can anyone suggest anything to stop my dales bucking in canter..backs ok, teeth ok, saddle fits really well.

He fine in all other ways..does a driving trot if not careful. hes difficult to get into cantern and then continously bucks. Hes knocking my confidence alot!! and i can barely get the confidence to even strike off now.

Try some canter circles, used to ride a mare that would rear spin and drop her shoulder at any point! That stoped her because she couldnt rear as she was circling!

Do you have a school? If you do then you could do canter circles and gradually make the circle so it moves down to the other end of the school and if he bucks tighten the circle back again.

Have you tried asking for canter while going up a hill? although he still might buck it wont be so hard to sit to and you can then try and get him out of the habbit by pushing him on.

Are you really allowing your horse to go forward, I know when they start messing about there an be a tendency to hold on even tighter but you really need to send your horse forward and allow that jump forward. As balance improves the canter will become a little quieter and less exciting
 
basically let go??

he does jump into the canter and he is immensly powerful behind...i wonder if it is me and my fears?
