my little sister has just learned to canter but she pulls on the reins when cantering and starts panicking when her pony may stops.
How do I get her to stop pulling on the reins she said that she doesn't realise that she is doing it.

Put a strap between d rings on saddle and get her to hold this while you lunge pony

agree with the strap, or a long neck strap so she can keep her hands in a more normal position

Take away her reins until she is able to balance properly. On the lunge, I would suggest....

A long neck strap which allows the hands to be in the correct position and do this until she isn't hanging on to the neck strap to balance. Anything else tips them forwards. No reins and on the lunge.
