canvassing opinion - livery yard staff

Just doing a bit of research...calling all livery yard owners and managers! As one myself I have often thought that it's a shame that there aren't (to my knowledge) any uk wide networks that offer specific training or support or just the sharing of good ideas. Does anyone out there think that this might be useful/helpful or interesting? Got a germ of an idea but don't know whether to grow it! Any feedback would be gratefully received! Thanks

Thanks for replying - hopefully a few more of us will too...

I was thinking about an online network with free advertising, regular newsletters and perhaps an annual conference in regions so we can meet in person and hear some guest speakers, get some up-to-date training - stuff like managing difficult people (!!) veteran horse care, health and safety updates etc etc

What would encourage people to join, do you think? Reduced yard insurance from a reputable company? Free supplements? Competitions? Ideas?!

I just think that it seems a shame that there isn't a professional network for those of us who own/run a yard and that, unlike most other professions or hobby areas, we don't all get the chance to work together and share ideas.

Do you think it'd be worth a go?
