Anyone know where I can get one with max dimensions 42D x 35W X 30H (inches), with a square back but a sloping front?

The way I'm travelling them at the moment (harnessed with seat belt clips on the back seat of a Nissan Micra) is really not going to cut it for long distances and Ricoh is a pain in the arse for moving/howling/wriggling out of his harness once we get to our destination. Was considering ripping out the back seats and turning the whole thing into a glorified dog taxi. :o

This Lintran one would probably do it but the price is pant-wettingly scary and if at all possible I'd like the full 42" depth so they can lie down.

Have a look on the fleamarket bit of agilitynet, they have various sizes of secondhand crates for sale most of the time. You could also look into getting a guard and tailgate made to measure - a local blacksmith gave me a rough guesstimate of £180 to build one to fit my Micra. A lot of money, but a lot less than a Lintran!

There are a few on Eblag...? Might not be the right one - but you might find a seller on there who could help you.

Otherwise, what about getting something made?

Also BC, have a look at Barjo, they have a second-hand section so you might find something.

So glad I have a stunted dog who fits into a comparitively titchy crate...:p Mind you, it still cost me the thick end of £80!:(

I'll scour agilitynet, thanks Spud, any other second-hand sales pages people can think of would be marvellous too (no luck on the usual freeads).

I did consider a tailgate but the way I'll have to take the rear seat out will leave the floor on two different levels, I suppose I could get some foam and make a sort of mattress out of it to level everything out, can't help but think a crate will be all nice and self-contained and a bit less of a pain though, especially for cleaning, and it means I can pack gear on top and around it.

I can't really afford it at the moment but I suppose my max, eating-value-baked-beans-until-Christmas budget is about £200. :o

There is someone on The Hunting Life forum who makes terrier boxes (earthdog section I think) might be worth joining to get a price from him. I know your dogs are not terriers btw, but I reckoned he'd be able to make any size of box/crate

One cheap nasty £60 crate later... bargain!

Shame the free vetbed came in the most clashing colour imaginable. :p

Hi,
Not sure if it would of interest (or if it's the correct size) but I got something called a dogbag, it's a pop-up kennel that squashes down to fit in a back pack.
I've posted a link, the large is 90cmx90cmx85cm, but because it's on sprung steel loops it's bendable, it also has loops so you can strap it in using seat-belts.
I have a link, but it's to the place that i bought mine from so if you want it I can PM you.
I also have a pet-tube, but it sits along the back seat (I love it, no more wet dog on my seats).
