Poor new puppy, she get travel sick. She is 10 weeks.

Do they grow out of this? and is there anything to do that will help?
Presume it best to try no to go out after food?

thanks : /

She is very young so definately very early to start with a routine of getting her out and about in the car as much as possibly, always travel her on an empty tummy, try simply letting her sit in a carrier (large cat) or a small crate, in an open boot with the engine off and on with a favourite treat, something delicious (a kong filled with deliciousness):D never actually travel her when she has eaten it, otherwise u have fuelled her up ready to barf:D this is jsut simply for the purpose of her associating the car in a positive manor, stick with the same carrier and place some newspaper in or cardboard (both good anti sickness aids) and a fave teddy or blanket and try and cover the majority of the carrier/crate to make it secure and stop her having a full view out to lessen the motion, then begin to take her on super short journeys, 5 minutes max and then get her out for a stroll to tire her out, and head back home, stick to short journeys for a good while and always end up with her getting out and having a walk/play stroll somewhere nice.

Once she begins to settle take her out frequently, never let along time lapse between journeys.

Agree with Cayla - our Korben is now 16 weeks old and travels in the car like a pro - he loves being in the car despite a bad start - he too had a wee bit of travel sickness to start with so we never travel him on a full tummy and always have a toy in the back to keep him occupied. We used to take his blankie but its kind of in little bits now so we had to remove it lol. We took little journeys, just round the block each day to start with until he relaxed a bit then we went longer - he is happy for 20 mins in the car now and just lays down and goes to sleep or watches the world go by out of the window. We have a dog grill between back seat and boot area with the boot rack removed - one day he was suddenly big enough to jump over the back seat and flattened my poor daughter lol and also have a bowl and a bottle of water in the back at all times just in case we are out longer than we anticipated.
