Definitely a car odour bomb and replacing your cabin filter! If you don't replace the filter no matter how much you spray inside, as soon as you run your AC it will smell like dog again! Can buy a replacement for about £10-£20 usually

Might be worth keeping a neutradol box in it, or a couple? They're pretty good!

Was gonna suggest this the powder for carpet is very good, I would be inclined to sprinkle it everywhere leave overnight then hoover it up following day and repeat and do it regularly.

We moved into a rented house once and it stank of dog pee downstairs, the only carpet was on the stairs so I think the smell was from the bottom large step where the dog was peeing.

I used the powder everyday and eventually the smell went.

I'd personally recommend hiring a Rug Doctor carpet cleaner, from experience they're great for deep cleaning car upholstery. They comes with a hand held device for cleaning upholstery - you use the device to spray on the water/shampoo mixture, use the integrated brush to work in the shampoo mixture and then it suctions the dirty shampoo mixture up.

You can hire them from supermarkets for about £25/24hr (plus the shampoo), and you could carpet shampoo all the car's carpets, and I've used ours on leather car seats as well.

So the baking soda in the dish didn't do a whole lot, and I managed to break the hoover so didnt want to sprinkle it, but I did get an odour can from Halfords and that seems to have done most of the job. I will replace filters in the week and hope that sorts the rest.

Thanks everyone!

So I have just bought a leather seated Tiguan that is great in every way, but it does smell somewhat of dog. Not overpowering but its definitely evident one has been in there when you get in and get a whiff.. I have hoovered it, wiped everything down with dettol, been at it with Lenor spray, carpet odour remover spray and Febreeze and it still stinks..

Does anyone have any ideas?
Put some catsan or odourlock cat litter in pop socks and put them in the car, will absorb any smells and moisture present - also worked on a car we bought cheap from a smoker!!

You might have needed a couple of dishes spread out. I've used this in some cupboards that smelt a bit old and musty and it worked really well but I did have a few bowls in each and I left them in there for at least a week.

Glad the odour can seems to have worked.

I have a nice car and a dog van with fitted cages, one day my car had a flat and I had promised a lift to a hospital appointment for a friend. So I went in the van. My god. She told me right off, it stinks in here. I don’t notice it 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️😂😂 so now every Sunday morning it gets a fine and dandy wash out of the back with nice dog friendly disenfectant, and a hover with shake and vac in human area. And air fresheners changed.
so it one is not bothered, or don’t notice it, rule is don’t take passengers with 2 legs.
