I’ve just received my first pallet of cardboard bedding.

Those who use it and like it, what is the best method of mucking out/ management. Do you treat it more like straw than you would shavings?
Thank you.

I used cardboard for a copd horse and it mucked out like shavings, not straw imo. Easy to muck out as the wet clumps together, and can be quite heavy, but in general a decent enough bedding.

I am pretty sure i used a shavings fork too.....

Full muck out every day, as I would with any other bedding.
I use a poop scoop and a rake, just find it easier.
In the past used a shavings fork, but find the rake is more efficient, and waste less bedding.

I use like shavings. I remove the wet a couple of times a week if stabled or once a week if only used part time. Like shavings the depth of the bed affects this. I have found a deeper bed to be more economical than a skimpy one.

The absorbtion of wee is not instantanious but gets soaked up steadily.
