Ok, I'm 18, in the last few months of A levels at a grammar school with my own eventer who is aiming at an intermediate and a BE one star. i want to work with horses competitively but also love geology and have a deferred position at uni to go in 2009!!. for my gap year i have several options;
1) Working pupil with horse with eventer for a year
2) Working pupil with horse with eventer for 6months then try and get a few rides near me
3)Persuade my parents to get a good intermediate horse to gain experience and earn a few rides that way
4) School an exracehorse to be an eventer but with lots of help and the experience of also having an older ex racer(I know I'm mad!!!)
5) Go to college and get teaching qualifications - got my pony club B, ready to do lunging test and hopefully AH this year whilst eventing and hope for a few rides
6) Hide at home then go to uni as sort of planned!

Go to an eventing yard where they will help you can your BHS qualifications as this is always a useful fall back and more qualifcations always look good on your cv. Also makes you look like you have been doing something useful while on your gap year and not just getting drunk every night.
