Caring for New Leather Boots?

Hia,
How do you care for leather riding boots? do you put leather balsam on them,or does it make it lose it's shine?
I don't want to lose it's shine,but still want to condition them.

Interested in this too. With my black riding boots I use kiwi tins - brush on, brush off, buff. But I don't know what to do with my brown ones, wouldn't trust myself to get the right colour stuff!

I clean mine with leather soap and treat with leather conditioner for every day or polish for shows. In all cases I use ariat polish on my ariat boots.
