Brazilian dressage rider warned for horse mistreatment at Olympics
Carlos Parro has been issued a warning by the FEI for potentially causing “unnecessary discomfort” to his horse Safira
And was then strikingly aggressive towards people who reposted them with (perfectly warranted) criticismstill wild that it was the breeder/owner that posted the photos and thought they were the best ones to choose!
So PETA didn’t take the pics, they got hold of pics which had been taken by the horse’s connections who then posted the pics publicly?
This is getter madder.
yup they were very proud of them, and everyone was bullying/trolling for mentioning otherwise, it was staggering that they couldn;t' fathom that what stuff looked like really mattered right now. (UK owner breeder so did know what was going on)So PETA didn’t take the pics, they got hold of pics which had been taken by the horse’s connections who then posted the pics publicly?

In defence of this particular one, I believe the horse was found to have bitten itself which is why they are allowed to sub in a 4th rider - however I don't know for certain, it's just what I read. These things do happen too, whilst not ideal of course.![]()
Paris 2024: Italian rider expelled after horse found bleeding
Italian rider Emiliano Portale has been eliminated from the Olympics after his horse was found to be bleeding from the mouth following the eventing dressage qualifiers.www.bbc.com
Page 36, just found it.Owner posted them and hastily deleted (they're screenshotted in the CJD thread actually if you scroll back a bit)
Genuine question (for the room not necessarily you ASBMO), as I haven't come across it before outside of seeing reports about it in dressage... How and why do horses end up biting themselves in the mouth? And is there something about high-level competition that makes it more likely? In defence of this particular one, I believe the horse was found to have bitten itself which is why they are allowed to sub in a 4th rider - however I don't know for certain, it's just what I read. And?The owner is a member of HHO
Though he usually only pops up to promote his stallion
Oh that's why it rang a bell. . .The owner is a member of HHO

No it is not just a dressage thing you would probably find as many horses who bite themselves at a fun ride.Genuine question (for the room not necessarily you ASBMO), as I haven't come across it before outside of seeing reports about it in dressage... yup that's why I remembered him, lots of hey here's my stallion spamHe only pops up to promote his stallion(s), doesn’t contribute anything to the forum anyway.
It appears the rose tinted specs he has over his stallions appears to also filter into the training of his event horse. I’m gobsmacked it was him that blindly posted the photos!! I mean what an own goal.
It’s such a privilege and honour to have a homebred at the Olympics, and I’m in no way naive in the difficult dynamics involved in elite team sport for an owner, they often have far less say than they should have. But it’s given me a lot to think about too.
Am I going mad, wheres the Charlotte D post gone? Have HHO silenced everyone?
I've ridden a horse that was trained and competed by CP. I'm not surprised.
My list is further restricted by "the people within reasonable travelling distance" as I'd never have mine with someone where I can't pop in.Yup. I have a reasonably long list of event riders I’d never sell a horse to, and CP is on it!
