... but if they did, they still wouldn't be as cool as my yard!

I'm very sadly leaving my beloved yard sometime within the next week/week and a half, so last night they threw a bit of a leaving do for me. Had a bbq (in the rain... Clare'd be a great county if we could only roof her), drank a disgraceful amount, stuck on music and danced around like idiots, exchanged presents etc. Myself and YM had a bit of a cry - she cried to me that I was like an adopted daughter/best friend/sister all rolled into one, which got me bawling! Don't want to think about how much I'm going to miss her :(

Can't believe I've only been there 5 months, feel like I've been there forever. Such an amazing, generous, talented, crazy, fun group of people. Nothing is too much trouble for them - their support and generosity has been absolutely staggering. I did some photography/design work for them (intended to do it as payment/thanks for everything they've done for me) but was given a new rug, girth, headcollar and hat as a thank you! We've been on several yard trips to horsey events, we go for breakfast once a week together, ride out and school together, had some great nights out and some of the funniest times I've ever had have been with them! Made so many memories in such a short space of time. :)

They bought me a hipflask "for those cold winter rides" with a lovely personalised engraving :)

Woke up this morning on YO's sofa underneath a curtain with a kitten dangling a spider over my face and a greyhound eating my shoe, found YM asleep in a stable (to date missing a shoe), supermegafriend missing presumed collected by sympathetic husband. Went out to do horses/greet customers to farm shop in maxi-dress, waterproof jacket and hob-nailed boots with dishevelled hair, smeared make-up. Don't know whether customers or horses were more disturbed :D Then we all went on one last (very gentle and hungover) emotional hack together. Big load of soft cheeses that we are!

Love that yard, going to miss them all SO much. There will be more tears when I actually load up Knobberts and leave. Was bawling just writing their thank-you cards/wrapping their presents! I'm sure the new yard will be lovely, but I don't think I'll ever find another place quite like this one :)

Can offer loads of bbq goodies (inc YM's amazing pavlova and my home-made tiffin) left for any reads... though not much booze made it out untouched ;)

You'll just have to kidnapp YO and install her at new yard ! Remember it's the people that make a good yard not the fancy items.

Enjoy your last couple of days - sounds an amazing place and embrace the new yard with lots of smiles and some choccy cake

Also had a yard BBQ last night, but fortunately, I'm not leaving. We also all took food down and a few drinks - something tells me we all seem to have the same thought as there was way more liquid refreshment than anything else! Luckily for me it was Hubby's turn to drive - at last, one that worked in my favour:D

You sound like you have a fab time at your yard and I'm sure you'll treasure the memories. Out of interest how far away are you moving? I know I'd be devastated to leave our current yard, so have totally sympathy for your situation but I'm sure you'll find new friends - although not replacing the current crew.

Already have plans in place for this :D

About 5 1/2 hours drive away, literally the other corner of the country, sob! But luckily my job means that I will be back for the odd weekend, so we'll get to meet up then. We've also agreed to do a little holiday swap - they'll come up to me for a week sometime (with ponios in tow) and myself, Monty and any other sound liveries I may meet at the new place will go down to them for a week of reminiscing!

why on earth are you moving???
Combination of reasons - to spend time with my dearly, dearly beloved grandparents while I still can, to be closer to my boyf, new university, new jobs. Nothing to do with the horse/yard, just sad that I found such a cool place and have to leave it!

Oh dear god love you, is border patrol down there still as tough?! :D Was wondering how West Cork is the other end of the country to Clare but shur I suppose West Cork is the other end of the country to everywhere!

Lovely area in fairness - used to play the ol' ceilis down there ;)
