Has anyone used or know anyone with a horse by carousel? Im about to put my 5 year old homebred dwb x tb mare in foal due to an injury and I like the look of him. Just wondered if anyone knew if there were any inherent things I should look out for as I dont want anything tricky (I currently have a broken leg due to this sort of issue) and my 5 year old was soooo easy! Any help please:)

Lovely stallion and sorely underused in his lifetime until he was older. I worked closely with his 4 star eventing daughter Quixotic from the time she was a PN horse and she was such a talented jumper...was only tiny herself (small dam) but that didn't stop her from pinging the biggest fences. She was also incredibly tough....nothing phased her and no injury would stop her....I remember she injured herself BADLY when younger and ripped a leg open needing 60 staples...she wasn't lame for a moment...it was like she couldn't possibly let anyone see she was hurting even though the cut went down to her bone!

Thanks for you replies, I have been down to where he stands now and I do like him and he still look well at his age which shows his longevity! Silly as it sounds does anyone else think he has very small ears??! My mare is about 16 hh out of my old TB PC mare who is still with us at 29. She is also tough as old boots but she needs something with a little more bone as she has the legs of a sprinter but the body of a dressage horse. She is very VERY careful with a look at me attitude and has plenty of presence! She was so easy to break in and was hacking by herself within 6 weeks. I am concerned they might be quirky which is why I asked on here if anyone knows about his offspring

My experience of those I have known has been quirky but not in bad ways...not hard to break at all...easy to ride and do...but have opinions on things - just never nastily. One for example - had strong opinions on who was allowed to rider her and if she didn't like someone who was riding her, she never did anything nasty...no bucks, rears, etc...she just switched off and went like a donkey. I know an Olympic eventer who couldn't get a thing out of her....someone else got on and you had the star back. So it was never nasty - just opinionated. Her full brother though was the easiest and sweetest horse in every way.

Well if you met beanie you might think she was by him then as opinionated is her middle name! We do call her the spawn of Satan as she is black and little devil ears that curl at the top! I don't mind character in fact the more of that the better I just don't want anything quirky (I have a catherston yearling and my old evener is a welton horse so I know the issues with these lines!) I want this foal for keeps as there is only a 50/50 chance she will come sound so gotta be sure I'm making the right decision! Shame the old girl is as old as she is or I'd send them both!
