Carpet Gallop Surface

I took my horse to a gallops made of this & it rode v well. The person who owned the gallops says that he only harrows it twice a year & it doesn't freeze or blow away. I am hoping to use it for my arena if I ever get planning permission. (Decision expected a week tomo...everything crossed...!)

One of my local gallops are surfaced with this. Summer before last when we had the extended heatwave it remained rideable whereas the sand & rubber gallops just went too deep. It also rides even better wet.
But as with anything, it’s not just the surface it’s the ground preparation underneath.

A local yard has this over sand in the arena - it’s a great surface in the winter but it was awful and deep in the summer

I’m after opinions and experiences please of the Carpet gallop Standalone surface. Many thanks
Hi, just reading your post and looking at carpet gallop Standalone, did you put this down and how are you getting on with it? any info gratefully received, many thanks. S.

Hi. We have 3 inches of standalone and 3 inches of their Gtech on top. I’m not sure if it needs more rolling but I’m finding it very loose and deep for riding on. I think for turnout areas it’s fab. I have message them actually for some advice. I think it’s better when it’s had a lot of rain on it and been rolled plenty. Ours has only been down since January so I’m hoping it will settle more

Thank you that's helpful, they suggested the Standalone fibre would be less springy and have less movement than the combi, its also cheaper. I'd like to see it down in an arena somewhere before I commit. Many thanks, good luck with it.
