So, competing within carriage driving, what should we be wearing? I will be driving and my OH will be on the back. i am hoping to do some dressage (or precision and places I think its called!)definately and maybe some eventing.

Look on the BHDTA website, there are plenty of links to photos of those competing in driving trials. Or if you are wanting to do private driving, then look on the BDS website for photos / advice.

This is my Private Drive turnout, which is rather similar to the turnout you will see at the dressage phase of driving trials.....

Very smart!! So is it like a long black skirt you are wearing? Sorry, cant really see what you are wearing below your waist!

Long black skirt with black tights and flat black shoes, but worn with a black Melton wool apron over the top with red binding. This turnout worked very well with this horse (Friesian) and the carriage.

The photos below are of my different turnout with a different horse and carriage. The whole idea is to compliment the horse / carriage / harness. The 2nd photo is an evening championship.

Agree dressage and cones similar to above although you can get away with a little less smart and use a marathon vehicle. If you are a novice you have to present for a full inspection whereas more advanced you dont

For the marathon dark trousers or jeans and matching coloured jumpers and hat silks. I always wore a body protector under mine just in case

I havent got anything booked up yet, its just I know its the sort of thing I would like to do once he is ready, so just need an idea!
