Hi, I am looking for a present for a friend for 30th birthday and think she would really like to try carriage driving. Does any one know of anywhere around Cheshire, North Wales, Staffordshire where it is possible to have a couple of hours lesson in driving?
Any one have any other good ideas for a horsey present which doesn't involve actually riding?
 
Not in your area, so not much use to you, but there is the Yorkshire Carriage Driving Centre in or near Dewsbury West Yorkshire. Many years ago sister and I bought our Dad some driving lessons, he enjoyed it and bought a 12.2 driving pony, later he bought a 14.3 traditional cob mare, who now lives with us in retirement.
 
Not really close to you but Caroline Dale has a place in Matlock. It's a nice venue for a day out or week-end.

There's a museum as well as lessons on offer.

You could also take a look in the business ads section of dragondriving.co.uk.

I remember seeing something about a place in Wales somewhere so keep googling and you'll find it eventually.
