Carrot and Spud Update?

Will get a full update on Monday.

Hopefully they will be quietly munching their way through the weekend getting their strength back. They will be constantly monitored for any changes good or bad and will be getting plenty of attention and cuddles.

Just back from Burghley and a visit to the BHS stand (already a Gold member btw!). Had a long chat with Lee and gave him a donation to the cause!

What a lovely young man and so focused and caring. Well done Slinky et al. Hope that the horses regain their strength and make a good recovery.

These horses were reported on 3 seperate dates to the RSPCA - the first being in July this year - why did it take so long for the RSPCA to take action? They kept telling us they were too busy to go and see them??!! Last time we reported them they said not to ring again and they would keep us updated, which was a full month before they were rescued.

rspca and a vet checked them a month ago, i was told, and vet apparently said they were 'fine'.
i don't care how bright the chestnut horse looked in himself (and bless him, he looked perfectly happy when i saw him, he pricked his ears and wandered about, when i'd expected him to look miserable), a horse as emaciated as that is NEVER 'fine'.
i am awaiting an email regarding the internal investigation at the veterinary practice which employs the vet in question. i just hope they manage to impress upon him that Third World Standard Starvation Levels, a Condition Score of zero, are not acceptable, ever.
