They have been eating their way through the weekend and are doing well. They are bright and perky in themselves and will be seeing the dentist this week to make sure they can keep munching!!

So far so good - but its a long road back for them.

Just out of interest, how are they being fed? Do they just get hay, or grass, and do they get any hard feeds or any additional stuff? How did you introduce them to eating again - was it done in stages?

that's brilliant news, thanks so much for updating us.
must admit, makes me a bit resentful of the people on here who were so adamant that the worst thing we could possibly do would have been to give them a small sloppy feed that night or day, as it was absolutely guaranteed to give them colic and kill them... yeah, really sounds like it. it would have made no outward difference to their condition, ANY good vet could see that they were starving, but it would have been a start, seems daft that they had to do another 20 hours with no food.

Actually they didn't go without for 20 hours, as soon as the vet had examined them, they were given very sloppy readigrass feeds..... which they very quickly munched their way through!!!

So glad that they are doing well..... that carrot is definately a fighter.... god knows he needs to be given his state tho!
