Carrots or parsnips

Mine like them, but that’s not saying much, mine will eat anything. No idea on sugar, they only get them occasionally when they are reduced at the supermarket.

I have no idea but as carrots are about 80% water, their high sugar content is only in 20% of the carrot anyway. So overall its not as high as people think!

mine prefer carrots but will eat parsnips ( but then they will eat anything to be honest) but back to the question............................ I think there is more starch in parsnips than carrots so a little more like eating a potato in terms of feeling full!
I only offer a random parsnip occasionally

Cooked parsnips have 4.8g of sugar / 100g, and boiled carrots have 3.45g, so pretty much the same when cooked and I therefore assume not much different when raw!

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou. I used to tell people this and was always told I am talking crap.

I have 2 that go nuts for parsnips and one that thinks they are the vegetable of Satan!

Love the idea of them rolled in flour/parmesan and roasted - will try that! Sounds loverly.

My lads love nuts, especially almoinds, any dried fruit, bananas, fennel seeds and so on - so experiment!

My daughters old pony used to eat Bakers complete dog food given half a chance and also very partial to prawn crackers. mind you her new one eats prawn crackers as well.
