Curious as to what people do when they need a phone with them (for emergencies only & switched to silent, obviously!) on horseback in these jacket-free months.

Lanyard around neck - snagging/crushing/loosing danger?
Jods pockets - hard to get at/easy to bruise self on falling?
Attached to horse - no good if you're not...

I'm new to riding alone so never had to do this before!

small bumbag, normally have it sat round the front to avoid danger of falling on it

Either in my jods pocket and hope I dont fall on it or the woof wear phone holder attached to me. Used to attach to the saddle but no good if I fell off as my horse doesn't wait for me to get up.

Umm not sure that I should answer this one LOL But mine is very small and flat goes in my bra! With the old phone it went in one of those strap on phone carriers.

I have a waistcoat with no filling and it has pockets I wear that when I hack etc . Friend I ride with has a hi viz one with no filling so not hot at all and if you are going to wear a hi viz then wearing a non filled waistcot is no worse in the heat that a tabbard

I strap it to my belt, pocket etc

Never ever ride without my phone, even if I'm just in the school on lado, he has a habit of busting out some rather strange shapes and if I come off and get dragged or fall on a fence post etc or get into any form of difficulty then I need to be able to ring for help...assistance or for someone to come and put me down lol.

Our yard is very quiet and you can go for days without seeing anyone (as in other liveries) although the YO's knocking about he not always near the school and wouldn't be able to hear my cries for help or see me waiving my white flag

, I have a habit of passing out if in pain so I need my phone at all times.

My OH has a bright yellow neoprene phone pouch which has a velcro strap. She puts it around her arm or on her leg at the top of her riding boot.

If jods have an outside pocket in that, if jods have an inside pocket in that, if jods have neither shoved down the font of my knickers!!!

I've got one of the fixaphones from Robbies, too. I've had it for about 8 years and it's still in ok condition (a bit chewed from my ex's dog, but still does the job!)

jods zip pocket. Have a holder but found the velcro came undo several times and having dropped the phone twice at speed don't use it anymore

Just a word of warning for those who carry in a jod pocket. I know of someone who fell off landed extremely heavily onto phone and fractured pelvis. As my horse is fairly young I always have someone on the ground with me so they look after my phone for me and can either help me themselves or call for assistance if anything happened.

I tend to put mine in my pocket but i do have a small bum bag too if i want to carry more than just my phone

dont put it in your bra... I did once and fell out whilst i was trotting and went into little bits on the road.
