For those of you who have asked about Cartrophen in the past, it proved tonight to be a success for my 10 year old Goldie :) she has severe HD.
The vet did her manipulations of her hips today after a 4 week course of injections and has said that although they are still stiff, the range of movement is brilliant, better than before PLUS she is keeping up with our 12 month old GSD and having no lameness/pain and running off on walks! ;) she is still stiff upon getting up (when she's had a long lie down, but no limping) but who isn't ;)
She had another booster injection tonight and then he said its now upto us - if she starts showing signs of pain or lameness, another booster but it should last 6 months at least.
Very happy, well worth going down that route!

So glad its working for her. It made a huge difference to Buffy, after the initial course she had cartrophen every 6 months and never had any problems in between them.

Catrophen certainly gets the thumbs up from me too. My 10 year old Lab has been on Metacam for two years due to arthritis. She's two weeks on from completing her Catrophen course and it has been miraculous. Total transformation and she's off the Metacam too, which we hadn't expected. Seriously pleased!! :)
