Cartwheel gag

I know this should be in stable yard, but wanted opinions on this bit. Has anyone had any success with it? and on what sorst of horses? Thanks in advance

we had one on a strong pony and found of all the bits I tired far the best for this pony and Beatle could hold and turn but in other bit pony just ran off with her.

I found she could turn better in it than a dutch gag and kimblewick.

Its not so much action as a dutch and other gags.

On ebay they put up Wilkies as cartwheels but there not just incase you look on there for one.

Use a french link version on Zara for hunting and cross country, give me that edge, but not too much and she is happy in it. Welcome to try it if you want flower....

Ooh, sounds exactly what i want, think G runs off it I put too much in his mouth, so want something that will help me hold him bit not as strong as the Tom thumb with a curb strap which is the only thing that has come close so far....was looking at the Neue schule one with rollers, but may take you up on the offer to borrow one....

No problem honey. Zara is funny in her mouth, if put something too strong in she tends to run off or just plants herself....... Just give me a shout when you want to try it ans we will arrange something.... I looked at the Neue Schule one too.......

I have swapped my mare to this bit (for jumping), from a loose ring snaffle. She is one 100% better, before i had to have a constant strong hold to keep her at a constant steady speed.Now i can hold the contact much lighter, as when i take a half halt she respects it more. Turning is also better as i feel its a more when you ask for something (like turning/ check of pace) it is more direct. I guess because the reins/ check pieces dont move round the bit rings. Oh i have just realised you asked about a cartwheel gag, hope im rambling about the same bit?
