After reading Thursday's issue of Horse and Hound I were upset to read of a local stud owner been prosecuted for neglect of her Caspian ponies.
Its worrying to think that only a short distance away, almost under every locals nose, ponies are in a distressed / neglected state and according to the H&H report, dead.
Surly this didn't happen over night, I feel guilty that as a local myself I didn't see it, but more so others visiting the place and the owner herself didn't seem to notice either.
Just hope the ponies that were involved are in good homes now.

Their are recent ads on preloved for caspians breeding states darkhorse and located in Barnsley surely if the woman has been prosecuted and banned from keeping horses the RSPCA should of seized all the animals? seems far to coincidental that they are up for sale in the last week

Many of the ponies were taken to York horse sales prior to her being sentenced, many were sold for very little money so my guess would be those that bought them are selling on to make a few quid, such a shame there were some really lovely bred ponies going for hardly anything.
