Hello
My yearling was castrated 16 days ago and all went well - the weather couldn't have been better for it.
He stayed at the vets for 48 hrs and then came home and has lived in the field since. The wound dripped for the first few days and I cleaned his legs and covered him in Coopers fly repellant. He had bute and antibiotic for the first 5 days and all has been good.
The vet advised it would get yellow gulp and it would swell around day 10 days.
I went away for 3 days and he was watched by a friend - today I bought him in for a groom and noticed the wound was visual, red, bit of yellow crust. I called the vet and he asked if he was lacking condition and fine in him self. Which he is - and therefore just to monitor it.
Anyway I gave him a groom and put fly repellant around the area and turned him back out.
I took a photo so just wanted to know if this is normal.
Another question - when they do the snip is it just one cut or do they make two cuts, one for each testicle.
