After reading a thread on here about castration I took my dog straight to the vet and got him done. I thought it would stop his sex drive but no, he is still a raving sex maniac. My bitch is on heat and the dog was actually forgetting to eat and drink, I thought he was going to give himself a heart attack. We had to seperate them, so dog is on holiday with relatives the other side of the village. But yesterday he ran away from their house all the way back to the bitch!!! Please someone fill me in I honestly thought castration would calm all this down!!! PS also getting bitch done when she is finished on heat, she has only been living with us the past 3 weeks.
 
It will take a while for him to settle, there still will be hormones whizzing around his system, the change will not happen overnight. I think the season after B was done, he was still showing interest in his sister (bleugh!) even though he had no equipment there.
He would still have a sniff at her, like, what's THIS? And will turn his head if a female walks past, as if to say HEL-LLO!
Also, the older he is, the longer it will take him to forget or get over previous behaviours. It will be a bit like autopilot still, at this stage.
 
We had a GSD castrated at 4 years old, 6 months later he didn't seem to be showing interest in our bitches, until we found him tied to one who was actually coming out of season! They have long memories.:p
He will settle down but will take time, once you have had your bitch spayed it should make a big difference to him. As mentioned on your other thread,you are best waiting until a couple of months after her season to have her done, rather than straight away.
 
It takes a lot longer than a week to see the difference :D apologies if Im wrong but I was sure you said he was done 1 week ago, it takes a good 4-6 months to see a notable change in this type of bahaviour.
