How can I stop the dog going in the kitten's litter tray?! It's a covered box with a roof on, and I have it facing the wall so only the kitten can squeeze in, but dog is spending hours trying to get in. He can move the box and then sticks his nose right in the litter, then walks around looking like he has a coke habit. If there's anything "edible" in there he will have it, in fact any bit of litter with a splash of wee will do. It's completely disgusting and I've tried telling him no, spraying him with a water pistol, etc, etc....

My dogs used to do that, anything 'edible' was gone in seconds. I don't have a cure for it but before the cat was pts I just made sure I emptied the litter tray in the morning before I let the dogs out of the utility room (dog bed room with washing machine).

Im sorry to say that my two do just the same as yours. I also have the covered box and have tried everything to try and thwart the dogs but as soon as they are alone they are in there tidying up.

Grim but nobody has come to any harm yet!
