Am just after a little advice if there's anything that can be done?
I have two cats, and have aquired one dog...
When the dog met the cats 18months ago, she thought cats were for chasing through and through... (she is exbf's dog..) have managed to teach her to stop chasing cats (mine) and stop chasing other animals...birds etc.. over the last year, it has been myself who has been taking her to training class, as he clearly didn't want to do it himself...and as a result when she's with me, she's ok.... will sit and listen, and do as she's told...with him she knows what she can get away with..... (because he has let her from the day he got her). To cut a long story short, she now lives with me, but i fear this is not a permanent thing, as one of my cats terrorises her, in the way that he will go out of his way to sink his claws into her sensitive nose...she responds by barking at the cat, but stands her ground..
Now, I had her for a few weeks in the summer, and the cat was clearly jealous of her, and did this stalking on a regular basis, basically when he came in for the night!! and one night, attacked me also... that was it, she went back to the ex there and then... I will not lie...I love my cats more than I love the dog, but i do love the dog and want the best for her... she is a lovely dog, and i hope to do some agility with her, she would love it....
but unless the cat accepts her, I really cant keep her (dog)
any advice would be appreciated.
Please don't tell me to get rid of the cat, as that will never happen.
