I've brought the new cat all these amazing toys and today found out that his favourite are..........

The lid off a milk carton AND a scrunched up piece of paper ;-)

Milk bottle lids are the BEST toys! Closely followed by shoelaces. My cats were driving me bonkers when we moved house so i bought loads of toys.

The favourite though is a toilet roll tube taped off at the ends, with a small hole in and filled with biscuits (free, blue peter style). Keeps them amused for hours!

Now, where the photos of this new cat?? :)

Fresh cranberries. They roll, jump, turn and make a noise. Hours of pleasure, til you tread on one. In this event vanish spray works well, but cat will need a new cranberry.

You did ask.....

And the reason why the bin is now locked in the bathroom....

Hair bands
Any sort of bag they can get in
Crisp packets (empty)
Loo rolls ( especially if they can get it to roll down the stairs)
Other cats !

Little cups, bowls etc from daughters barbies & lip balms. Also will play in the washing up bowl with the water & bubbles given the chance. Xmas tree was a favourite. Farm cat plays with rug leg straps when you hang them up to dry.

To turn this thread into something horsey:
The end of the longe whip. While the pony is being longed.

N.B.: Do not yank on the longe whip to free it from grasp of cat. Cat WILL eventually let go suddenly, and longe whip end WILL fly with alarming velocity high through the air straight at pony, who WILL NOT BE AMUSED.

My cat is a very fussy madam and would only play with a piece of string initially, no pet shop toys were good enough.

Then I came across Da bird:

It flutters like a real bird and she goes totally wild for it. I have bought her other toys from this range and shop like a dragonfly toy and she likes those as well but the da bird is her favourite and we are on our second "bird" as she managed to find and kill the first one!!

My schooling whip is my cats favourite toy. They go mad for it. They play with it without any input from me too. I can just leave it somewhere and they'll pounce on it and attack it. Even if they've just woken up they go crazy. I can get my cat to spin in circles to try and get it!

Boxes are also pretty great, especially if they're just a little bit too small for them so their flub hangs over the edge! And big paper bags, Primark for example, are just brilliant. They rustle when you get in and can be destroyed with claws!

Also my mums spider plant is good but they're not meant to have that!

And anything with catnip on it. I got some catnip 'teabags' from ebay, put a couple in a sock and they adore it. Pens and pencils are great too. Pegs for hanging up clothes are pretty entertaining.

The only real cat toys they occasionally play with are a catnip ball and a twizzle stick with is a plastic stick with a long piece of fleecy fabric like a lunge whip.

My cat plays fetch with the tinfoil wrapper off creme eggs. She'll stand on your chest holding it in her mouth, purring at you til you hold out your hand, (she drops it on your palm) and you throw it for her again. Which I do, dutifully, every time until she gets bored (she's v much like Queenie from Blackadder) x

My two are Bengals and as a result are totally nuts. One loves nothing more than bringing me items when I'm sitting on the sofa. Its always things she finds, quite where I have no idea! Her favourite is batteries... but she merrily brings me pens, letters, coins etc. She even brought me a fiver note once which was a nice surprise as I hadn't missed it! She will bring me specific soft toys sometimes so I can throw them and she retrieves again, but she tends to do that only when she cant find junk to bring me (she'd hate a tidy house!). My other one will only play with 2 actual cat toys, one ball thing I bought her for Xmas which she adores and a kickaroo toy she tries to kill. Otherwise, she loves stealing food and will always play with it first (loves brussel sprouts which she eats afterwards and will play with prawns for ages but doesnt know she can eat those!).

If drawers are left open, both will be in it pulling stuff out. They both actively seek and destroy the paper on toilet or kitchen rolls. Any bottles left on a surface, they just HAVE to knock off within 5 mins. If bread is left out, they'll chew holes in the bag to get to it. They're always in the utility room climbing up the shelving to see what bags of food they can pull down - 2 days ago, it was a litre bottle of fizzy water they hurled onto the floor for it to burst and flood the room! Oh and they have a thing about water, they like to watch the sink for hours to see liquid moving about by standing about in it, so their water bowl has been turned over so many times I've had to buy them a heavy watering device thing and leave it on the draining board permanently! I've owned cats all my life but never Bengals, they aren't 'normal'!!
