My dog has been diagnosed with veeery early nuclear sclerosis and a dog my parents are thinking about adopting looks like he is developing cataracts.

My vet did say with the nuclear sclerosis that there is nothing to prevent it, just hope that it's slow to develop. I was expecting his eyes to go eventually, as he has collie in him :( fortunately he can still see at the moment.

This potential new dog - after realising how much surgery cost my dad is looking at alternative cataract treatments. Anyone have any experience of this? n-acetylcarnosine seems to be the one. I'm sceptical, as the vets have never mentioned this to me, and I can only find a handful of studies done (although they have had positive results).

Any thoughts welcome!
