catch 22...

grrr! i hate that catch. my pony is ready to go and pony event and be competitive at it, BUT i am now 16 and too old to event!! grrr...

i could just get him measured as a horse (he measured in), but i feel its not fair to him to be competing against other horses when he will probably not go further than novice eventng - but in ponies he will be successfull as he has lots of scope and experience.

but i cant bear to part with him after 4 years - hes my best friend!!

but what do you think? should i sell him or move him into horses?

Could you loan him out or get a rider to compete him in ponies whilst you focus on horses?

Everyone has a similar decison as you to make at some point. It isn't easy but has to be made. If you can afford to keep 2 horses then part of your problem is solved athough you'll still need a rider for him. If you can't afford to keep 2 & you want to compete then he will have to go...either sell or loan. Difficult but you are the only one who can make the decision. I had the same decision to make some years ago & our lad was sold.
