I have two problems with catching my horse and its making things very frustrating. He is turned out with two other horses and as soon as I catch him one of the others start mugging him to the point where he tries to chase him away and wont let him stand with me. Obviously this is a pain and potentially dangerous, but also my horse has never been great to catch anyway and now he has started turning his back end on me. He hasn't kicked out yet buts its a definite warning. Any advice please??

Catch the other two first and tie them up, then catch yours, go back and let the others go once you and yours are on the other side of the gate? Of course, that won't work if the others aren't owned by you and their owners are not agreeable to you doing this.
