Hi Everyone

Just wondered if anyone else on here has a horse out of Catherston Springsteen?

I have a gorgeous 4 year old 17hh Liver chestnut gelding out of him and would be interested to chat to others who own his offspring and swap stories!

Thanks

Ali

There was a horse on our previous yard by him - he was very nice. What I'd call a really top class RC allrounder, he'd happily jump 1m and a bit more, and very nice paces, look the part, and was actually anyones ride - I think he went to a mum with young kids in the end. Had a few soundness issues but think that was more related to the management of him than the horse himself!!

My friend has a 5yo Springsteen mare, out of a small (~ 15.2hh) full TB mare - she's flaming HUGE! A bit grumpy sometimes, but generally lovely to do, and moves really beautifully. Won and been placed with really good percentages at prelim dressage, she'll certainly move on up easily. I love her

Physically impossible for a horse to be out of a stallion

Always makes me chuckle that

I don't have Bruce baby, but I worked with the one that Silmarillion mentions when she was a foal and therefore worked with Bruce himself. Lovely horse - big soppy git!

Thanks for your replies.

he too was out of a smallish mare and has topped 17hh now!

Wally is a big soppy horse too. really friendly and a happy soul. Can be a bit quirky but really lovely paces and looking forward to seeing how he progresses. The only negative about him is that he is absolutely filthy in the stable!

Bought him as an unbroken 3 year old and we have had a challenging year and a half to say the least. Mainly due to an unforseen illness I had which pretty much put me out of action between march and october of this year. then when I had the all clear to ride again he decided to try and impale himself on a fence post and rip his chest open! so another long wait !
So finally able to get on with now and enjoying every minute.
