Catlips?

There is one big room full of 2nd hand stuff but there are rooms full of brand new stuff. You may not go into these rooms, you have to ask for things and wait til Sheila creaks up the stairs and gets them.

Frankly, unless you have money to burn, there is nothing wrong with 2nd hand and a lot of forums seem to have a dedicated thriving Swap shop.

I love second hand horse stuff and also second hand riding wear - Maybe when you're old enough to have a job and you have to pay for your horses yourself rather than your parents paying for everything, you will appreciate the value of money and won't be able to be snobby enough to have everything brand new....grow up!

My daughter lives in 2nd hand gear, she has cavallo's, whitaker and pikeur jods all off ebay as are her saddles. There is no way i could buy her this stuff new, frankly no one but you knows its not new and think of the money you will save that can then be spent on other things such as lessons, entry fees and transport.

I am currently awaiting a shipment of loads of old riding stuff, boots, joddies etc from a friend :D

Can't wait! It'll already be broken in and comfy :)

ha most of my stuff ive had for years and used on all the horses we have ever had. if i need something new and cant afford it, im off to my local second had saddler and its fine. the horse doesnt know the difference and so long as it works, i frankly couldnt care :)

ok so i was thinking of going there as lot of people at my yard go but is it ALL second hand as i dont want second hand stuff? [sorry im a tad snobby lol]
x

What a horrible comment about a farm of very lovely people who have helped hundreds if not thousands of people get started in riding as well as competitors at ALL levels  Did you know her daughter wins at BE and BD elementary? my OH competed at HOYS with her entire wardrobe plus tack from Catlips. Her new stuff is fabulous quality and even more fabulous prices.

tad snobby:eek: very snobby more like

Sheila deserves to be treated with more respect

hey nothing wrong with second hand! so much of my stuff is second hand. in fact one of my friends sold me a john witaker bridle with a KK loose ring bit and breastplate/martingale only used 3 times all for 20 quid. can't go wrong with that :)

Sigh... you never give up do you BSJA whatever. I think some of us are getting a little tired of your idiot posts. One day you might grow up and feel ashamed of some of the stuff you've posted on here, well maybe....

I've got some really loverly items from there. I don't have a problem with second hand things. Like all the other op have stated she is a wonderfull lady who will go out of her way to please you. I don't have load's of cash to buy all new plus it help's keep it going. I think you will be very surpised what you find there!!!!! Shame it's not closer will be going there once I passd my test and have my own car!!!

Indeed, she is an extremely helpful lady who really knows her stuff and some second hand items I got there were to die for. She took a saddle from me and in exchange, I pretty much outfitted my new horse. She has everything or will get it for you.

I think given the responses you have had on here recently, BSJA123, you ought to sit back and take it all in before you type things you will later regret. This is a very 'adult' forum, ie we appear to be older than 14, for the most part. A little maturity goes an awful long way.

Maybe she will grow up and be embarrassed about her spelling and grammar! Never mind trying to school your horse, you need to pay more attention at school - I would suggest particularly in English lessons.

All of this. Sheila is lovely and has helped me out countless times and is always very generous with her exchanges. She is incredibly helpful and nice. Her bridles and rugs are lovely quality.

*madface*

BSJAShowjumper you do make me laugh! Pls feel free at looking down on me for buying a £2k second hand saddle, saving £700, a £300 saddle, saving me £300, etc., etc., etc....

And I agree, I don't like women wearing red jackets - am rather purest too!

Wow where is this place? I love a bargain. I got a Barbour show jacket for £30 off ebay and it was like new. I went to a showing demo with a really high up judge not so long ago and it was really refreshing to hear him say that as long as things were looked after etc didn't matter how old they were and that ebay was a wonderful place. I find kids find it easy to talk flippantly about money and how much things cost. Wait till they have to work out how long they worked to pay for something.
