I have 2 elderly cats i have lived in my house about 3 years new neighbours moved in she has 2 male cats alot younger than mine and they have been terrorising my 2 to the point where my female cat wont go out and i have had to take my male cat to the vets twice now with bites and today i found out that neither have had their bits chopped off "why" because she cant afford it so i wiped the floor with her but she said she isnt going to get them done grrrrrrr bloody people i wouldnt mind but i am sure she is on benefits so i thought that she would get it cheaper or even free

Give her the forms to apply for a voucher and offer to take the cats to be done. Not ideal, but would solve your problem and worth it for the peace of mind. Sending purrs to your scaredy cats.

Cats are a legal pain because they are classed as wild animals so if the 'owner' of a cat does nothing about bad behaiour then there is nothing a person can do about it from a legal standpoint

There are laws to stop people from doing delberate harm to cats though !!

That's a great video.

To the OP - your neighbour may just not want to get her cats neutered. Some very strange people like having tom cats and entire male dogs as they feel that having them "done" is against their civil rights!! Yes, this is what one nutter said to my friend who is a Vet Nurse. Men are particularly squeamish about having male cats/dogs neutered :(

You could say to her that the next time your cats need a stitch up from the vets, you will be bring the bill around for her. And get a big water pistol and soak the tom cats if you see them coming near your house :)

Poor things! I know what it's like to have naughty neighbour cats. My poor girl was terrorised by at least 3 large tom cats! Though she was small and old, she could hold her own.
What REALLY angered me, was my neighbours allowed their new dog to crash through our hedge and run around my garden, where my cat was trying to have a peaceful nap (this was the day before we had her put to sleep as well!!!)
We had to take her out of the sunshine and keep her in :(

I hope they take your advise and get their cats done. Nothing worse than awful neighbours!

thank you all for your replies i have invested in a large water "gun" and i will print her off the forms tbh she seems a bit simple in the head i think i must have the worst neighbours the other neighbours jack russel bit the tip off my goats tail i did a thread on that and now the simpletons cats are bullying my 2 old mogs i know cats will be cats and i am a cat lover but i could quite easily throttle these 2 :)

Yeah, definately tell her she can get it done for free if she really cant afford it, but TBH she shouldnt have pets at all if she cant even afford basic things like this for them! I understand what you mean about neighbouring cats being a pain - we have really made an effort with our garden (nicest in the development!) but that has the bad effect of attracting all the neighbours cats! My 2 used to love going out but now "bully" cats have started to arrive. Am fed up chasing them out of my garden :( We've sold though and are moving back out into the middle of nowhere which will be such a relief!

I know i am not a very tolerant person and really shouldnt have neighbours and i know they are only cats but they have been with me for 14 years through thick and thin and are very loyal as well the ginger one is a "special needs" cat he really is quite stupid clumsy dopey and he really cant look after himself oops sounds like my x husband lol :D
