Cats and worms

Hi Guys -
I work my cat regularly but have just been recommend to worm monthly due to how much she hunts. I work her with the stuff from the vets but I have just noticed a rather large dead worm in her vomit. She was last wormed about a fortnight ago.

Surely they should have gone by now?!

My understanding is that the wormers kill the worms in the stomach but it isn't a long lasting drug so if your cat picks them up two weeks later the whole cycle starts again.

Wormers aren't prevenatives.they just kill the current infestation,some only kill adults not juveniles at the time they are given...that's why hunters get done more regularly to try and keep the parasitic burden at manageable levels.
