I could be moving to Catterick from Surrey next year. Here in Surrey I pay £35 a week DIY with off road hacking. Hay is about £6 a bale. A full set of shoes from my farrier is £85. What sort of prices will I be looking at for up there? Thank you !!

I live in county durham so in the same area but not awfully close to catterick but it may give you a rough idea. DIY is around £20 - £30 hay is between £4 and £5 but may vary and a full set is usually between £40 and £60 (£85 is extortion!! Lol)
hope that helped. Leah

I'm in west yorks (but close to north yorks) and pay £4.75 a bale of hay. DIY I think is about similar to that - shouldn't be more. Farrier for me is about £60 a set - I would think that should be cheaper up here, depending on farrier though!

Theres Richmond which is v close to Catterick that is a great centre, lots of facilities, don't have prices on website.

We were based there, have been away 3 years. I loved it.

I can recommend Home Farm, a lady called Katey Watson runs it, her dads the farmer and you can hack around the estate. They also have a 20 x 40 school and it's well looked after.

Just up the lane theres Richmond esquestrian centre lots of comp's, at one point I was out nearly every weekend at various comps around the area.

Armstrong Richards (or is it Richardson) is the local feed merchant and they will have lots of adverts on their notice board, there are loads of good yards up there depending what your looking for.

Best of luck for you move and enjoy
