Cattle Grids In Epping Forest

Essex County Council are considering installing cattle grids in and around Epping Forest as part of their Forest Transport Strategy Plan. These are intended to encourage traffic to slow down, but are potentially lethal to horses. Hampshire Fire Brigade have been present at many incidents of horses trapped in cattle grids in the New Forest with very sad consequences. I have seen a horrific photo of a pony trapped in a grid which had to be put down - too graphic to post on this forum. Local people and users of the forest please take a few moments to sign the petition below. Thank you.

Thanks - just found and read it. I know there have been problems with grids in the New Forest, and elsewhere I'm sure. There just has to be a better solution.
