He wouldn't last five mins at our yard with Bo the Cat around.....
I was trying to be light hearted but if you're going to get pissy over it on a Saturday night suit yourself![]()
I still don't see why you think cruelty to mice is ok but presumably cruelty to dogs cats and horses isn't. I could be wrong. Perhaps you think it would perfectly acceptable to poison the dartmoor hill ponies when they need culling.
Right well heres lighthearted for you and when i get pi$$y you'll know about it
Find me a reason/use for a wild mouse??? Other than food for a cat/hawk/dog whatever else might munch on it. What is a gnuine reason for me to keep them about??

So state me a wild mouses use, and dont say pet as you cant make a pet out of a wild mouse, you would kill it with stress everytime to went hear it![]()
So you actually believe species are only of value if they are of "use" to mankind? Wow. That's sad. I feel sorry for you.
for gods sake quickly put out some nuts & grapes etc or jamie oliver will be round telling you all about its bad diet! lol
And as for him coming back if removed, he won't if you take him far enough. He's a mouse. He doesn't use transport.![]()
Im off the fluffy bunnies are out in force tonight, its great that you feel sorry for me, for what I have no idea but you go on feeling superior in the knowledge that you feel sorry for a person who thinks of mice as vermin, if that perks up your day then my work here is done
You would be better using your sympathy on people who really need it but hey ho Thanks![]()
Isn't it funny how humankind often hates the animals which adapt to living near to us? We are a messy species, leaving our waste all over the planet and polluting it. But when another species feeds off our mess, we call them "pests" and "vermin" and wish them all sorts of horrible deaths.
I don't see it that way. think we're all just creatures sharing the planet and I personally will avoid killing my fellow beasts where possible. If the biscuits are in a tin, Mr Mouse won't get them. And as for him coming back if removed, he won't if you take him far enough. He's a mouse. He doesn't use transport.![]()
Polar bears are of no use either. Perhaps you're pleased they're dying out?
We are the biggest pest on this planet, wonder how long it will be before someone stamps on us.
I would give him another biscuit to take home with him! I have a larger cousin of his who comes out every evening after feed time and takes some carrot or hard bread from my hand. Very cute but OH would be furious if he caught me as he's trying to get rid of them![]()
I think a couple of very sweet kittens would solve all problems - and there are sooo many cute abandoned kittens looking for a nice home. In fact, time I went to get some as I too hate poison!!
PS That picture has made me want to have a coffee and choccie biscuit - damn!!
I was once moving yards so was clearing out my straw bed. There was just one corner that I never seemed to touch or turn the banks on and there was about 4 families of baby mouses. All of different ages from just born and naked through to older little babies. They were so cute that I really struggled to just put them on the muck heap![]()
"A larger cousin" really made me laugh! I love all animals, I used to have pet rats, they're intelligent creatures. And I adore the grey squirrels which come to my birdfeeder.
It's not the animals' fault that there may be health risks or that they were irresponsibly introduced where they don't belong. They're just trying to survive.
I'm not saying we don't sometimes have to control populations, but when we do, it's usually our fault there was a problem (habitat destruction, leaving our dirty waste about, etc). As for "hating" animals for being themselves.... never. Any more than I could hate any of your horses.
Mice don't bother me too much as they just live in the corner of my stable with the rest of the Stuart Little family.
But i HATE rats. vile vile vile!!! i'd kill one in a heartbeat
Why? Rats are just big mice. I actually like rats and had 2 which were 'removed' from the Medical Research Centre in Mill Hill. Blodwen and Winifred, they were extremely clean (they removed their bedding every day to air it) very friendly and intelligent. They had the run of my room every evening and kept me entertained for hours. They really tickle when they snuffle in your ear. Rats should have rights!
