Caught a thief in store room on camera !!

Why? Rats are just big mice. I actually like rats and had 2 which were 'removed' from the Medical Research Centre in Mill Hill. Blodwen and Winifred, they were extremely clean (they removed their bedding every day to air it :)) very friendly and intelligent. They had the run of my room every evening and kept me entertained for hours. They really tickle when they snuffle in your ear. Rats should have rights! :D

:D Hooray! :D:D

Kill it!! Here's a motivational thought. Mice can carry salmonella, rickettselpox, leptospirosis, rat bite fever, lyme disease, dermatitis, tapeworm, hantavirus and weils disease! They also have very weak bladders and leave a trail of urine everywhere they go! So that's across work tops, open feed bins, buckets on the floor, in open bags of feed, feed scoops etc. You get the picture. So here's hoping the choccy biccys got binned. I like all cute fluffy animals and yes I feel bad when I've poisoned one and it's wobbling about across the yard but better that than an entire family living in the feed shed. They also breed like mad having 6-10 litters throughout the year producing 5-10 babies and able to do it again every 45 days if they wanted and those babies can reproduce when they're 8 weeks old!!

So unless you want a mouse farm get rid of it!

Actualy - a land owner is obliged by law to take reasonable steps to keep their land free from pests, I suppose it depends on your interpretation of reasonable.

Never underestimate the damage rats and mice can do. having recently cleared out a property that had been infested with rats for years almost all the posssions had been shredded, a whole sofa turned into hamster bedding! the electrics decimated, door and window frames chewed beyond repair, even plaster and mortar chewed away. Disgusting - get rid I say.

We have ratties at my yard - little bastards pooh and pee on everything; isn't rat urine poisinous to horses?
The terriers and yard cats are useless - the dogs only tell us where they are, which we already know (we don't need Ray Mears to track them), and then leave us to deal with them.
I, too, used to breed fancy rats and they were brilliant pets - so clever and easily trainable, but the wild ones are just nasty.

Feral Cats. I now have 5 proper ferals which I feed dried food to. Before they came rats everywhere, now I can leave paper food bags out and they are untouched. Only issue is that when its raining they stay in my tack room and pee on the floor cos they don't want to get wet. Stinks! Also you need to trap them to neuter but Cats Protection will pay.

Ah mice are pretty cute in small numbers - too many and their urine stinks!!! We had a barnful nesting in old hay and it was overpowering. It's rats I dislike and the diseases they carry.

I hate to say it but are you sure that is a mouse? It looks like a young rat to me.
Bear in mind that rats are rarely "only children" :D

I expect the rest of it's family will be along to enjoy the treats as well.

By the time the whole family become fully grown it might not seem quite as cuddly and amusing.
Moggy cat methinks.
