Love the dishwasher trick! Will def give that a go!

This post bought back to me a very very embarrassing event quite a few years ago. My horses outdoor rug had got trashed and needed mending which nobody would do unless it was clean. It was urgent cos horseys spare was a terrible old thing.

Anyway I took it home to sneak it into the washing machine, but it wouldn't fit. Soooo I thought I would wash it in the bath. OH not due for a while so I thought I could get it done, room aired etc before he got back.

By god did it STINK! There I was on my knees next to the bath swirling around this putrid rug, filth everywhere when the front door opened. Oh god my heart stopped, you know that terrible moment when you just KNOW its not going to go well....I debated whether to lock the door and pretend I was having a bath but the stink had permeated the whole house so there was nothing I could do. He just looked and turned around and walked out the door again! He was so livid bless him. After a few days the smell went. Not many days later he went....

I have hosed them down before when the dog has nicked them and ended up covering them in mud and it was quite surprising the amount of dirt that had collected in them, not thought of washing them specifically before tho!! fair play tho!

Washing a hay-net is a bit like ironing pyjamas! You must have too much time on your hands OR you really don't like housework and it's a great distraction!
On the vodka cocktails, can I just advise that when making skittle vodka (which is delicious btw) take out all the green skittles first. If you don't you will end up with a mucky looking vodka but if you don't put in green ones, it turns a lovely reddish colour.
Then put the green ones on their own into the vodka that you decanted out to make room for the skittles.
You now have a choice of red skittle vodka or green vodka!!
