I’ve used both the on line and physical shop of Beeston Animal Health/365 Vet for many years without issue.

I currently have a 6 months prescription lodged with them, and ordered more medication off them on line last week. I didn’t notice the statement below on the top of their business web page when I placed the order. I usually pay by PayPal, but I now realise that I didn’t have to pay this time when I ordered.

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION** 18/03/2025 11.00am - We are currently unable to process online payments due to technical difficulties. Our team are working to rectify the issue as soon as possible. You can place an order online and our customer services team will contact you to take payment via telephone or secure email link. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I’ve since (days later) been emailed and texted by 365 Vet and asked to pay over the phone or by a secure e Mail link as they cannot currently accept on line payments. I will do neither, though I have asked if I can collect and pay for the meds in store by contactless card. They’ve known about this issue since March 18, and their on line payments ares still down 🤔. Odd.

This review from Trustpilot from a few days ago. I advise much caution in ordering on line from 365 Vet at the moment.

Nightmare organisation to deal with; admin hell to get them to accept vet’s prescription. Took two weeks for drugs to arrive and now just been told that their system has been hacked and all payment card details have been stolen including name, address, card number, expiry etc so have had to cancel card. Avoid at all cost.

Ive just had a call from BT business about this very thing. There seems to be a sophisticated hack doing the rounds. the hackers can access business accounts broadband and therefore access everything. They then blackmail you .

From what i was told if you have access to the business broadband, and go on social media saying just been to nandos etc, they send you a link for vouchers for your next visit. Then they are into your system.

Obviously .. its not just nandos anything like that. Very scary

Thank you for the notification. I've just checked my email records to see how i paid them in the past and it looks like I used PayPal which is a relief. I can't remember if i made a customer account so I'll check that too now. I've heard of a couple of big hacking incidents recently affecting public services which haven't made the main stream news.

Interesting and makes sense regarding some of the social media post I’ve seen recently

I’ve just collected my prescription medication from the physical shop associated with 365 Vet. Their shop system hasn’t been hacked, it’s the on line arm which continues to be affected. The assistant seemed to think that it go on for months 😳.

I was sent an email by which apparently I could make a secure payment, but would you risk it? Me neither.

When I placed an order with them I hadn’t realised either . I eventually got through to them after 2 days and they asked me if I would pay on their email system. I said no thanks and used vetuk who were very quick to send out the prescription.

How recently?

Potentially you are at risk, as you will have given your card details over the phone. Check the date of your order. The alert on the website is dated 18/3/25, but I don’t know when the hacking took place, it’ll have been before that.

You *ought* to be ok if you placed the order on or after 18/3/25, as they were aware of the hacking by then.

If you ordered from Beeston Animal Health they say they are not affected.

ETA This message comes up now when I look at the 365Vet website. Looks like they have paused on line trading for now.

Your card details ought not to have been compromised if you’ve only used PayPal or in person contactless/chip and pin to pay for your orders. But I can fully understand the concern this data breach causes.

“How does PayPal store my data and keep my data secure?

We store your personal data in secure databases. In addition, we automatically encrypt your confidential information when it's stored and transmitted. Your data can't be intercepted when it's sent from your computer to ours. Plus, when you use PayPal to make a secure purchase, we don't share your payment details with the seller.”

I usually use 365 vet but on Monday ordered my cat's metacam from Animed. Although the cat sees a local vet regularly, my daughter (who is at a practice over 3 hours away) issues the prescriptions. Animed have contacted her today to query why she is so far away and if the cat is registered with a local practice. Hopefully all sorted now and really they are right to query it but first time its every happened in 5 years.

I have just phoned Vet 365 and was told all customers affected have been notified. There are no problems with phone orders
