Dont know whether I am tempting fate by posting, but I am a bit excited

My mare was diagnosed with ringbone back in August and the vet suggested trying a course of Cartrophen (4 injections at weekly intervals). She had the last one a fortnight ago.

Now I havent seen that horse do more than walk out in the field for months presumably because it hurt to trot (she is sound in walk), but yesterday I went out to get them in and they were at the far end of the paddock. I called and the other one took off like a rocket from the far end. My old girl trotted up the field and she was sound (straight line) and even flicking her toe with her fab ground covering stride like she used to.

Cant wait for the vet to come and assess her - another nearly 3 weeks. Pointless post, but I am excited she moved so freely. It would be lovely to be able to ride her, even if she could only cope with very gentle exercise

Oh good luck and fingers crossed. I know only too well what this is like. Lovely to see her feeling good enough to move well again, I'm sure. Bless her!

Thanks guys

Got to wait until the 19th November for the vet's visit (they say you need to wait 3-4 weeks from the last injection to get a real view of whether its worked or not) Uggh, soooo long!

My old cob was very lame with ringbone and it was doubted if he would be even sound in the field. My vet tried cartrophen 6 years ago and he is still sound in the field aged 19.The inta-joint injection made him hopping lame so I was'nt too hopeful to start but after cartrophen jab 2 he was much better

He was ridden regularly up to 18 months ago but just goes for the odd hack now. I have been meticulous with his foot balance also
