I have my mare wearing Cavallo Simple boots behind. I have a single soft gel pad fitted into each one. I hacked out for 2.8 miles in walk yesterday and again this morning, but on removing the boots today notice she's been rubbed just above the coronet on the outside of each foot. Each rub is about 2cm above the coronet band, towards the rear of the foot. Had anyone experienced this before with a Cavallo Simple boot? Is this normal without a wrap or sock? Or something to do with the gel pad? My mare is VERY thin skinned so I may try surgical spirit to toughen her skin once the rubs are cured, but I obviously would prefer the boots not to rub at all in future.
