I am watching a lovely pair of Cavallo breeches on eBay at the moment. I haven't had the make before (can't afford the price new!) but I would love some of that quality. I have a gorgeous Cavallo quilted jacket that I got new with tags from eBay for £25 (my best ever bargain, I think!) so I could be matchy-matchy if I get the breeches. ;)

So, I wonder how the sizing goes. I am usually a 30 in other makes I've had (Mark Todd, Dublin, Gorringe, Bridleway). Does anyone know how Cavallo compare? I am a 14 in non-riding clothes sizing, with an hourglass type figure (small waist, bigger hips and bum.)

Does anyone else find breeches sizing SO confusing? 30 in one make is 28 in another. Euro/USA/UK makes all vary. It's a minefield!

The listing ends tomorrow morning so I won't have a chance to try any on in a shop before then. I may just take a chance and re-sell if they don't fit.

Thanks!

This is probably no help at all, but I am a size 8, with fairly regular proportions, and take a 22 or 24 in Pikeur and a 24 or sometimes a 26 in Cavallo. They are lovely breeches so well worth taking a gamble if they don't go for too much - you can always resell them!

Thanks, Camilla.

I did manage to pop to a local tack shop who stock Cavallo this morning. I tried on two pairs of breeches in size 30. Neither were the exact one on eBay. One of them fitted and one of them was too small! So I am none the wiser.

I guess I will take a chance on eBay and re-sell if they don't fit.

It's difficult, isn't it? Even within one range, the different styles fit in different ways so you may need a size up or down. It usually is worth taking a bit of a punt on ebay - I often do this and end up reselling stuff. You may lose the intial postage but it's often worth that for the chance of a bargain. Good luck - hope you get them and that they are a perfect fit!!
