I have now entered the world of hoof boots and was just hoping I could ask for a little fitting advice? I've bought some Cavallo Simple boots for our little laminitic oldie on vets/farriers advice, after much measuring went for a size 1 which arrived today... but I'm not sure just quite how snugly they should fit? It was a bit of a struggle because he enjoys pawing the air and and I was trying to keep the boots clean whilst he was waving his legs about with plastic bags tied around his feet (!) .. they seem to fit the hoof almost perfectly with a few mm's to spare, but is this too tight? He was trimmed last week and I'm tempted to return these and get a size up to allow for growth, but not sure whether the next one up would be too generous. Also - does adding the gel pads affect the sizing at all? Thank you x
