Talk to your instructor, they will be seeing the horse and how she reacts to various methods.

If you do go for a cavesson look very carefully at the construction of it. Lots have a joint in the middle of the nose that can be extremely uncomfortable to the horse, a 'nutcracker' action. Search out one made with a smooth curved plate over the nose, they are about but can be more difficult to find (sometimes called 'Wels pattern')

Have you considered a 'Dually' ? I started my youngster off in one mainly long-reining as Im not a big fan of lunging. He was having the usual teething issues and I dislike lunging cavessons so tried a dually. We do lunge occasionally for a few minutes just for training purposes but I find we acheived more long-reining.
I found the dually great for both. A piece of sheepskin over the nose part also makes it a bit more comfy!

I have a lunge bridle- old bridle no reins that I use for my established mare.

For my youngster I have the bridle on her (no noseband) and use a cavesson, that way she is used to the bit but controlled off the cavesson
