Our 13(ish) beloved irish/border is on half a rimadyl palatable twice a day, and half a paracetomol. A few have queried the introduction o CBD oil into her daily routine - would love your opinions on this or anything else you feel may help.
Previous spinal compression surgery, now a wobbler in both back legs and query hip arthritis . We have as a family agreed no further invasive treatment, so are not pursuing a CT scan to identify any more detail, as we would not put her through another operation - it was 14 months before she returned to anything like her 'normal' character and now has limited range of use of back end, and a steadier life. She is our dog of a lifetime, so would be great to hear if you've had success with any other supps / alternatives. Our dear old Bear did well on Salmon oil but this terrier has a relatively sensitive tummy and can't cope with it in her diet (roast chicken and millies wolfheart).

Riaflex boswellia has worked wonders for our JRT with hock arthritis. She is also on Riaflex Green Lipped Mussel and Canine Joint Plus supplement. Kate the owner at Riaflex is very knowledgeable and helpful should you need to contact her for advice. I disguise the smell / taste of the boswellia mixed in bone broth along with the other Riaflex supplements and add some cooked chicken. If I added the boswellia to her dinner she was very reluctant to eat it.
I haven't used CBD oil.

Different issue but Hempine CBD has made a difference to nerve damage related behaviour with our cat (damaged tail, extreme and aggressive over grooming). However about half way through the pack she's refusing to eat it, hoping it's the heat.

CBD can alter the concentration (too much or too little) of many other drugs which are metabolised by the same pathway in the liver. Paracetamol (acetominophen) is one of them.

I didn’t use CBD but I found Librella helped my old boy hugely - he had herniated discs (I only found this towards the end after extensive treatment) and he was much more comfortable once he started on librella. I am aware it has mixed reviews but for George it worked well ❤️

Amantadine can be given as an adjunct to NSAIDs and paracetamol.

My dog (13 yr old Lurcher) has been on several drugs but come off them all for various reasons, he’s just had his first librella jab, so fingers crossed. Since his back legs started to weaken i have been taking him to a physio and that has made a world of difference to his mobility and comfort
