Can you have a look at this little pony and tell me what you think.

Currently 10.1hh - what adult height would you expect?
 
just cute!! lol

her pasterns look quite long and her head looks a little large for the rest of her but these are issues that will probably be resolved when shes grown into everything. She looks to be stood cow hocked but there is a wall there so it's probably nothing.

No idea about height my little one was about 2hh bigger and is now 14.3ish at 3 yr old .. so off that.. 12.3/13hh x
 
have been offered this little cutey free - so before i see if the sale of my horsebox will accomodate a second horse I want to know if it is worth the punt.

I am keen on breaking her to drive if i have her - at what age can you start initial driving ground work?
 
Not too keen on those back legs but as she is young itay improve/ look better when stood properly. My pony was 11.3 at 9 months and is 13.2 and 3.5 years so ill say 12 hands max
 
At 6 months old, my filly was 10.1hh. She is now 18 months and is 12.1hh. She ''should'' make 13.2hh, but who really knows!! I'd say this filly will make 12.2-13hh. She looks a nice sort, and is sure to grow into her head and neck! You can start do basic handling anytime from now, but keep it simple and short sessions. As for driving, she won't seriously be able to take lots of work til she is at least 4 - like any normal ridden horse, but that doesn't stop anyone taking their time and prepping in the meantime. Make sure you allow her to be just a pony, and ideally with a similar aged horse/pony for play time! lol
 
Regarding your comments about driving, it should be roughly the same age as you would if you were to ride. That age limit it mainly to allow the horse to fully develop, and mature.
 
The calculator says my 2 yr old should make 13.2hh, hes currently 15hands. It says my 3 year old should be 13hands, hes closer to 14hands with a bit to go yet, so not that accurate for me :D
 
Not too sure the calculator is all that correct......I just typed in my current 2 to see what it says they would make, measured my Sec C at 9 months he was 12, calculator predicted 13.1-13.2 but at 18 months his already standing 13.1 and slightly bum high (both parents full registered welsh C's both standing 13.2hh) My New Forest was 12.2 at 2 years old, according to the calculator he will make 12.3-13 but his 13.1 at 2 1/2 and know his still got some growing to do hehe...

In regaurds to breaking to harness obviously ground work can be started at this age but we tend to start long reining and harness groundwork from 2 onwards, we have ours pulling tyres etc and the pulling a light excercise cart by around 3, it doesnt put the pressure on bones like breaking a horse to ride does as they are pulling from chest but obviously there are no lenghty periods of exercise as they are still growing
