New pony arrived today, he's 15.1, golden buckskin and I would love to see what people think.

Bare in mind he is rising 4 and unbroken and I know there are a few faults but no nasty comments please :) ...

Aah he's cute :)

What's the difference between golden buckskin and, Er, bay!?! Spot the moron here....

Good luck with him xx

What a gorgeous colour! And lovely even socks. What breed is he?

It does look a bit like his tail has been chewed or something as it is thinner at the bottom than the top.

Buckskin is bay or brown with a dilute gene. In this case it is bay because the horse has black points on his legs and mane/tail are black. Caused by the same gene that causes palamino colouring, but palamino is chestnut with the dilute gene.

hehe!! You really are no moron, he does look a very light bay in those pictures, if you were to see him in the field he looks a lot lighter, golden and not bay esq!

I guess also genetics come into it!? Though Im not going down those lines as it melts my brain!! lol

He is my secret pony at the second... so SSSHHHH!!! I have to loan my sec a out so I can bring him back to my place.

We also have had a marvellous start, 5 minutes of arriving he saw a cow, spooked and landed on my foot!!

This ^^ put much better than I would did!! :)

He's bred from the Kinsky Line - The unusual coloured sport horses! lol

Thank you :)

He was settling well tonight, was pacing a little bit but seems happy enough although swamped in my l/w turnout lol

Fairynuff.... was waiting for that!! Lol

He is indeed narrow in front and I would say a little flat backed perhaps.

The flat back should round and fill out as I get him working and these narrow chest... well I think it will always be on the narrow side, perhaps as he matures it might get better he is only rising 4 :)

His back will, as you say, 'round and fill out' as you get some top line on him and just maybe his chest will open out a wee bit. I do like him, he looks like a fun horse! Name? :)

Very straight through the stifle - but who give's a ****. My backend could be better and don't get me started on my ankles. He's yours, he's a beautiful colour and looks to have a generous heart. Enjoy him!:D
