Especially interested in anything I could be working on or and anything with the potential to cause an issue (just so I can keep an extra close watch) I know his front legs don't quite match and would be interested in hearing what problems that might lead to in later life. He's 8. Thanks in advance - be brutal, I can take it!

Hope the photos work, first attempt using new Photobucket app on phone!

Firstly the good parts. Lovely head, well set on neck and good sloping shoulder. Nice length of back, nice and deep in the chest. I like his front legs as he has a good long forearm and short cannons.

Bad bits: He is slightly sickle hocked. This can give good jumping ability but makes horses prone to hock arthritis (bone spavin), desmitis etc. So that would be my main concern with him. He is also a bit pot bellied (too much grass?)

Ex racer?

Love his expression - reminds me very much of my little ginge :) Beautiful head, well set on neck, nice strong back and quarters. Plenty depth of girth. Super condition (though agree with the grass belly in the 2nd photo :D)

Front legs look fine, good HPA. Hocks and back feet would be the only worry from those photos. How long since he had been shod?

Overall I really like him though, very much my type!

Thank you :)
Yes he did very well out this summer, the richness has gone from what is left of the grass now so I'm hoping he'll slim down a bit :o he'll also start coming in at night soonish.
Thanks for the tip re his hocks. Will bear this is mind.

Hi Rhino, yes he's an ex racer - photos were taken today, four weeks since he was last shod - due next week. He was barefoot on the back when I got him so this will only be his third shoeing (I think)
Delighted you think he looks like your boy since I have drooled over many a lovely picture of him! You can't beat a big ginger :)
