12 yr old 17hh OTTB who, after a whopping 17 days with his former owner, is now my project pony. All opinions welcome!
(apologies for huge pic!)

No, she doesn't actually ride and her daughter is afraid of him due to his size. He's actually incredibly easy to work with and learns very quickly!Did he do something naughty with the previous owner ?
Thanks, I think he's got loads of potential.beautiful.... but needs feeding!!!!!Hes going to be a stunner!!

OTTB Is off the track thoroughbred, or an ex-racehorse. His official name is Green CollarHe needs a bit more condition, but I am sure you know that. Looks like you have yourself a gorgeous horse! He is stunning. Gorgeous. What is a OTTB? What is his name?

Thanks, I don't really know much of his previous history. Do know they bought him in that state, so it wasn't their doing. Been trying to find out more about him, and from what I've been able to find online he was still racing in 2008 so hasn't been off the track for all that long! A friend of mine works with racehorses and knows the man who initially trained him so hopefully I'll get some more info!I believe OTTB stands for Off-Track Thoroughbreds - though Im not sure what exactly the parameters are for such a qualification. Anyhow, that definitely is a beautiful horse. Congrats! So I take it the previous owner neglected him pretty badly, huh?
I have to say he looks lovely conformation wise and has a really nice head on him. My question is, how on earth did you get him to stand in such a lovely pose for the picture?!!
What are you intentions with him? I assume he was a NH horse? Would love to see what his jump's like!
I think so too. Overall, I think I got darn lucky that a horse like this just landed at my yard. definitely a keeper.I would love to see another photo of him in two months time - with some good grub and some muscle on, he will be a stunner!
How long has he been off the track? He looks racing fit to me but I might be wrong.
Needs a bit of condition and topline on him but his shoulder is nice.
Sorry, tried to edit the above as some of the stuff is irrelevent...anyway, he raced a total of 13 times. On the flat, over hurdles and point to point. Only managed one placing in a p2p coming 3rd. So not brilliant as a racer but does mean he can jump![]()

I think he is a lovely looking boy and a nice stamp - complete with a jumpers bum. Being picky (as you asked) he has long pasterns but like his over all picture.
Just one word of warning (from someone who learnt the hard way), hurdlers are taught to "fly" through the top of the fences so keep an eye on that when he jumps to ensure he has some respect. Mine didn't and ended up somersaulting. Would be great if you could see the last videos of him jumping as then you will get an idea - and hopefully he will be one of the horses who is too careful and spends too much time in the air.
and while its obviously not your cup of tea, he does have "event" written all over him!
